Lovers Can Become Strangers Again by bratezg
Sometimes the distance in a room
can seem like a mile
Making it impossible to cross over
to the other side
Between are hills and mountains
one has lost strength to climb
Strength was the past called yesterday
left is a ladder of memories
only leading astray
In the corners of the room, we sit,
at each, we stare
not knowing what to say.
Questions grow as time passes
Un-answered are the thoughts
How the circle keeps on turning
Looking back on the lifetime
we once knew as friends
The same love warming my heart
now burns
Even lovers can become strangers again.
